This great sale was the event of the decade for folk art. Nina Fletcher Little, widely known and admired for her work on the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Collection, and her husband Bertram Little, put together one of the finest collections of folk art of the 20th century. The cover painting (one of a pair believed by Reuben Moulthrop, ca. 1790) brought triple the house estimate, and at $745,000 was the top lot(s) in the sale, bought by the Museum of American Folk Art for their collection.
