This was an extraordinary sale. The sale consisted of the Baron de Rede Collection, which was put together at the Hotel Lambert in Paris in the 1950's and 60's. The catalogs have essays in English and French, also the captions or entries for each lot are in both English and French. Many entries are quite lengthy and explain the history of the Hotel Lambert and give provenance for the objects, which earlier collections they came from, and often bibliographical references, as to what publications these works had been published in. There are many detailed color photographs of the room settings in the Hotel Lambert scattered throughout the catalog. Certainly one of the historic sales of the 2000's.
