Exceedingly rare set with an inscription in Vol I from August 18th, 1886, but publication date is unknown. Dark Green boards with gilt titling on spine and gilt top page edge. Brown endpapers. Wear to all extremeties, but set is tight and pretty clean. A few bottom dog-eared pages and a few bent pages in the front of that volume as well. A small tear at the top of the spine on Vol III (still attached - repairable). Edge wear is through cloth on corners of books but not badly. Also considerable wear to spine heads and tails.
